Bangladeshi students can talk to admissions officers


The United States Embassy – through its EducationUnited States platform, in partnership with EdPrograms – will host a ‘American University Fair‘ at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel on September 23.

This fair is part of the EdTour Program South Asia Fall 2022an EdPrograms initiative that gives higher education institutions in the United States the opportunity to meet prospective undergraduate and graduate students in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan.

Officials from the following American universities will participate in the fair: DePaul University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Iowa State University, New York Institute of Technology, New York University Tandon School of Engineering, Pace University, Quinnipiac University, Savannah College of Art and Design , Siena College, Stony Brook University, George Washington University, University of Delaware, University of Houston-Victoria, University of Kansas, University of Northern Iowa, University of South Dakota and Western Kentucky University.

Students attending the fair will have a unique opportunity to speak in person with admissions officers from US universities about admission requirements and scholarship opportunities. They will also receive tips for submitting a strong application. Additionally, the program will include briefings from U.S. Embassy officials and EducationUSA advisors on the F-1 student visa process and other topics related to the higher education system. EducationUSA is the U.S. Department of State’s network of more than 425 international student counseling centers in 178 countries. The network promotes American higher education to students around the world by providing accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information about opportunities to study at accredited institutions in the United States. EducationUSA also provides services to the US higher education community to help institutional leaders achieve their campus recruitment and internationalization goals.

In Bangladesh, EducationUSA counseling services and reference materials are available nationwide at the American Center at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Edward M. Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts in Dhanmondi and virtually in Chittagong. EducationUSA reference libraries and remote counseling services are also accessible in conjunction with the American Corners of Khulna, Sylhet, and Rajshahi. All EducationUnited States services are free.
