How to Apply for Diversity Visa 2024

The 2024 Diversity Visa registration window opened on October 5, 2022 and will close at 12:00 PM EST on November 8, 2022. Online registration is easy and free.

The Immigration Act of 1990 established the Diversity Visa (DV) program, which makes available up to 55,000 immigrant visas by random selection.

The program allows people from countries with low immigration rates to the United States, such as Zimbabwe, to enter for the chance to apply for a U.S. immigrant visa.

To apply for this visa, follow the steps on the Diversity Visa program website. Please also click on DV Instructions for specific and up-to-date advice.

  1. Submit an entry. Eligible individuals may submit an application at dvprogram.state.gov during the specified enrollment period of October 5, 2022 through November 8, 2022.
  2. Check the status of your DV request. Beginning May 6, 2023, entrants can check the status of their DV application and see if they have been selected using the Entry Status Check at dvprogram.state.gov/ESC. Entrants must have their confirmation number to access the information via registration status check. This is the ONLY website where Diversity Visa applicants are informed of their selection, receive instructions on how to process their application, and are notified of their appointment date and time. immigrant visa interview.   4. To prepare. DV-selected candidates must bring all required documents to their interview, so be prepared.

Additional Notices to Applicant:
All entries must be submitted electronically during the registration period specified in the DV Instructions. No late registration or paper registration is accepted. The law allows only one registration by or for each person during each registration period. The State Department uses sophisticated technology to detect multiple entries. If you submit more than one entry, you will be disqualified.
