IIT Roorkee launches Roorkee Seva, aims to provide services to citizens


Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the launch of Roorkee Seva, a citizen service app on September 2, 2022. According to an official statement, the app was launched by Saurabh Vijay, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee.

The platform aims to provide services to Roorkee residents through an online application. Additionally, the Roorkee Seva app is available on the Play Store and App Store and can be accessed through web browsers.

The statement further adds that users can choose from more than 30 services and book services including doctor’s appointments and taxi services on the app from anywhere. “It is a single platform that allows users to connect with trained and verified service providers including professionals in one place,” he said.

Attending the event were Ajit K Chaturvedi, Director, IIT Roorkee, Manoranjan Parida, Deputy Director, IIT Roorkee, Arun Kumar, Chairman, 175 Year Celebration Committee, IIT Roorkee, among other administrative staff and residents locals, including elderly people, pensioners. , physicians and some service providers.

“In its 175th year, IIT Roorkee was keen to do something meaningful and lasting for the town of Roorkee. Roorkee Seva will capture the attention of local residents and make their daily lives easier at the push of a button,” said Chaturvedi .

“A contribution in the form of providing the application platform between the service provider and the recipient, especially in the field of medical services and common citizens, is made based on the suggestions of the citizens of Roorkee from different walks of life as part of the 175-year celebration initiative,” Kumar said.

According to Vijay, Citizen Centric Administration is not only a responsibility for the authorities, but as a responsible citizen and member of the scientific community, the goal of Roorkee Seva is to optimize resources and explore the potential of technology. for a better life.
