Iraq to facilitate Pakistani Zaire, assures embassy


ISLAMABADPakistan: On the Arbaaen (Chehlum) Commemoration of Imam Hussain (Alayhi-s-salam) and in carrying out the tasks entrusted to it, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad has sought with all its abilities to secure and facilitate the visit of volunteer citizens of the friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

A statement from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Islamabad regarding Arbaeen said that the embassy continued its tireless efforts to obtain the necessary approvals from the relevant Iraqi authorities for this visit, which was later enhanced and accomplished through the phone call made by the Pakistani minister. of Interior Rana Sanaullah Khan with Iraqi Interior Minister Othman Al-Ghanimi on the Saturday evening corresponding to September 10, 2022.

The phone call resulted in the Iraqi government’s response to the Pakistani government’s demands.

During the phone call, they discussed the process of regrouping visitors from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the holy city of Karbala and the approval of suspended visas before the said correspondence.

Interior Minister Othman Al-Ghanimi for his part affirmed the determination of the Iraqi government to provide a safe and suitable environment for all visitors, including visitors from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a friend with whom we maintain close fraternal and historical relations.

The Iraqi Embassy has called on citizens of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan wishing to participate in Arbaeen to come to the office of Iraqi Airways in the blue zone of Islamabad to pursue the necessary procedures for Ziarat.
