The Indian Embassy in China has released a list of 45 medical universities, from which students can sit FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) and opt for admission in India. This is for Indian medical students from Chinese medical universities.

“The notice that mentions the list is a government notice,” said Rachita Kurmi, a Chinese medicine student from Mumbai. The list was released on September 15.

Meanwhile, students are worried because there are still no direct flights to China. “Government has not given any update on this,” Rachita said. She informs that in addition to this, the students’ visas, as well as the certificates of return issued by the university, are at risk of being expired.

Asked about the options available to students in this situation, she said that some of them, who are due to return soon, were considering opting for transit flights. “It is the most viable option at the moment. However, they are very expensive and many cannot afford them,” the student said.
